I've been asked if Academy are decent model kits from a friend. Any advice before I ping him an answer back?

Not precisely what's in your link but "Scale Aircraft Modelling" magazine did a short write up of the 1/72 Academy Raptor and I seem to recall they said it was "the pick" of the many 1/72 Raptors on offer so one assumes that the 1/48 version isn't too bad either! I think someone did a detailed review of the Hasegawa 1/48 Raptor in the next issue and raved about that but you'll pay nearly double the price of the Academy kit for the privilege!

Needless to say I've built none of these so this is essentially second hand journalism ;-)

I've built a couple of 1:72 Academy offerings and they are a very good balance between cost and quality. Go for it, it will be good.
