Ive been looking at a couple of superglue accelerators

One is Acetone based and the other is alcohol based.

All i use it for is attaching ariel wires and the occasional PE bit.

My concern is will either of these affect my paintwork? i paint with acrylics.

Also can anyone suggest a good make?

I quite like the idea of this one where i can paint glue on one part and the accelerator on the other bit that its to attach to.

I'm open to any suggestions though as i've never used these before

There are aerosol and manual pump sprays available. I've recently started using the pump spray and although it seems wasteful it works well. Apply your glue, hold the line or PE in place and spray. Seconds later the glue has set and I've not seen any damage or discolouration to surrounding paintwork.

I would stay away from the acetone based one. Acetone might not affect the paint but it does melt plastic.....You should be OK with the Alchol base ones.

The accelerator you linked to sounds like an OK one. Just make sure you get the part in the right place first time.... ;-)

I can get into enough problems with out speeding the process up even more, so I have never seen the need for it.
