discussion Acrylic ink

Hello chaps,

I’ve been thinking of trying acrylic ink for weathering as it can be used for various techniques.

I’ve watched a few YouTube videos regarding this but am unsure what brand of ink would be best.

Daler-Rowney seems the most readily available locally.

Does anyone use acrylic ink and if so what brand do you use?

I ve got some Ammo inks and Games workshop "Cittadel"stuff. To be honest I find it cheaper to just mix up a wash using either oil paint or chalk mixed with water. Seems to flow OK. JMO

I use both Vallejo and Daler Rowney FW inks. Both are excellent. Good coverage and very fluid. Wash brushes as usual with acrylic paint. Nice range of shades with FW as well.

The FWs come with a nice dropper cap as well, should make it easy to charge the airbrush. Just remember they are ink, not paint. They tint really well, but don’t have the coverage of the opaque paints. Highly pigmented though, the yellows are great.
