I've been chomping at the bit waiting to start this kit!

I'd hoped to get the correct colour from Halfords to paint it in Quantum Silver but so far the can only get Casino Royale black, I've emailed Aston Martin to enquire about paint codes and I'm hopeful they will respond :) So the title may change to Quantum of Solace :)

Here's the sprue shots and I don't think they could have crammed anything more into the box!

I did consider ordering the extra PE set for the brake discs and still might it depends on how I get along with the build and other projects requiring more money :)

looks like a nice kit cant wait to see how it turns out, knowing you it's bound to be good. sitting back with my whiskey shaken not stirred (sorry cant stand Martini).

This kit looks really good

I'm really interested to see the final result ;)

This is one car kit that could tempt me one day. I'll watch with interest.

Made some nice progress, like most Tamiya kit it virtually builds itself but there are some nice little touches, like the Aston Martin name on the engine, its not a flat decal but raised chrome on a plastic backing sheet.

I'm using my new Mr Hobby metal colour range for any metal areas and I have to say I'll be ditching my Alclads in favour of anytime I can use these, even brushing on they give a nice even complete coverage and been able to buff them up just gives them more of a realistic finish.View attachment 89664

Nice work so far Adrian, I'm sure that "James" will be glad with it :)

Just sprayed my first coat of paint on the body shell, just need to know how long before its safe to flat it off and spray again, it's a cellulose based paint from Halfords if that's any help, thanks :)

Adrian

Cellulose car paints cure quite quick, but I would leave it at least over night.

Remember plenty of water when you do flat it down and rinse it well afterwards.
