I started this about 11 this morning and I wasn't expecting to complete it , the more I build airfix new tooling the more I think it will surpass the big boys in the model industry

The kit is very good , lots of detail especially in the undercarriage bay and the cockpit isn't bad either despite the decal for the instrument panel

The plane well this is a great representation of the first Hurricane with its two blade prop and fabric covered wings it is a beauty , I desided only to add some subtle weathering as the war hadn't started so it would have been better looked after:)

As always please feel free to comment /criticise:) View attachment 91563

Dammit, you guys stop putting these up, there's me thinking I've already built many Hurricanes so no more, then this little early version beauty crops up. Great build Alan, she looks very nice :)

Cheers joe , I would like to find out if there's a 1/48 of this early type but every time I look it just gives the 1940 version

I'll check out the stands at Telford and see if there's one built so I can ask :)

God knows how you build so quickly Alan! You're the Bionic Modeller! :P

Lovely Hurri, another one to be proud of! :)

Cheers mate :)

Your right they seem to be really trying which is not a bad thing also they have another new tool hurricane on the way to go with the two they have just released its another MkI so it could just be a new decal sheet as its the 75th anniversary of BoB , maybe an ace :)

Nice work Alan , these new airfix 72 scale are great value arent they, and a good subject choice too , the early hurris have been a bit rare until now , cheers tony

Looks good Alan, does the camo have soft edges? Difficult to tell from the pics. Kudos for not weathering the heck out of it too; there's a lot of unspoken 'peer pressure' from the modelling community that a model must be heavily weathered to be any good - not the case at all.

I have attempted the soft edges but it was very difficult to the due to the size , I think there should be a context when weathering an aircraft, this particular plane flew as part of the commemorations for Bastille day in 38 so no war no smoke burn from its machine guns , the only thing you would get would be exhause stains but this has been cleaned up :)

That is very cool!

I am just about done wit my 1/72 New tool Airfix Hurry Mk1 rag wing :-)
