My build of the ancient, original red-stripe boxing of the Airfix 1/72 Sepecat Jaguar (391)

I made some changes so that this build looked more like the real prototype S08 XW530 when it had it's shiny finish. Underwing stores and wing pylons came from an old Seventies Airfix Harrier boxing. Decals came from the spares box and from the latest Airfix Jaguar release. Fin flashes kept falling apart but I gave up replacing them. I dropped it yesterday and broke some bits off but I got there in the end!

That is definitely it for my 2025 builds. I hope you all have a great Christmas and a happy New Year.

Very nice

From an era of interesting aircraft..... Jag, bucc, harrier and phantom and lightning..... In fact an era when the RAF had plenty of aircraft

Thanks lads. 👍

I also preferred the Seventies period of RAF aircraft especially with their Grey/Green/Lt Grey finish and Red/White/Blue roundels. I have only ever built one Jaguar kit and it was the same boxing as this when it was first released.

BTW, I made an error in my original post. The Jaguar shown is XW560 and not XW530.

Thanks Colin👍

This red-stripe boxing (391) was the first release of this kit from 1970 to 1972. It had a change of box from 1973 to 1976 (becoming 03011-9) and in 1977 it was re-tooled as a Sepecat Jaguar GR.1/GR.3 (again as 03011-9).
