Hi all.
Here is my new tool 1/72 Airfix Lightning .

The colors are totally incorrect for this particular plane as it was only green over bare metal but I thought that looked boring so I did the RAF grey/green.

I must be honest in saying that I was not all that impressed with the kit :-(

Maybe I expected more for what it costs compared to the new airfix 1/72 Tiffy and it's fantastic fit and detail.

Ah well it's done atleast :)

Now that's beautiful I really like that camo you've done , it's a nice kit to build

That's excellent, this kit has had great write ups, though I don't do 1/72.

Joe, it could just be that I am "full of it" LOL

I for some reason expected ,after building the 1/72 Tiffy that this kit witch in SA casts almost 2.5 times more to be even more detailed and better than the Tiffy.

For me the fit of some parts were not quite as good as I expected, not bad but not fantastic.

The cockpit eas a tad empty to my taste compared tothe latest 1/72 Airfix WW2 birds.

The decals were however exelent in register, color with loads of fine small stencling.Well done!

Iam not shooting the kit down in any way, I recon Airfix has made huge strides lately, it was just my own personal experience with this particular kit.

Infact I am busy with the new tool 1/72 Hurricaine and it is a really nice little kit :-)

Thanks for that Theuns, always good to have an independent opinion on these kits.

It looks great Theuns! Lovely camo & seems bigger than 1/72.

Seems like a nice looking model, shame you're not too keen on it. I was looking forward to getting a 1:72 Lightning.
