I don't think Spitfires went beyond the Mk I during the BOB.

Yep, if anyone wants a Tamiya 1:72 Spitfire give John a shout quick and he will be able to get them in for you.

Course, if you want a Hurricane like me, you are out in the cold, all alone, wandering in the wilderness

You're not Graham mate, try Academy's Hurricane. The same one i put the electric motor in "The Few", you'll love it. Very nice little kit to boot.

Have fun, John

Hi guys. Sounds like fun. What about the bombers though? Some great looking bombers used in the bob.

Cheers

Darren I'm not too up on this either and I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong but the MKI worked most of the BoB, I can get you the same as I'm getting if you want, I'm sure with it being Tamiya the quality should be fine.
John, thanks mate, i'll take you up on that offer, can you pm me how much and how you would like paying.

Thanks

Darren

Hi Graham,

Looks like you're not on your own after all! I just won this so it looks like I'm in.

I just need somebody - please! - to confirm that this version took part in the BoB

Judging by the responses to the Bob why dont we have that as a small GB till january and also have your idea of planning out the years worth of builds for next year. I dont see why not as lots of people are involved in this. Me included.

Yep I'm in I have Tamiyas MKI Spitfire and the BF109E-3

For those looking for a Hurricaine the best that I've found so far is;

Airfix 1/72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.I # 02082A

Thread owner
Is that the best as in the right period (I suppose any Hurricane is OK though) or is it that it is a good kit David?

Thread owner
Erm not sure I did a search and that was the best I could find for BoB, being that it's Airfix it may need some extra work on it to bring it up to scratch!

I had a good look in ModelZone this morning and couldn't find any 1:72 Hurricaines at all, however they did have a 1:48th Hurricaine in the Airfix range.

try these links;

Hawker Hurricane MK.IIC (1:72 Plastic Kit) from Transport Models - Plastic Kits, Figures, Diecast Models, Model Raliways, Airbrushes, Books, Slots and Track.

Hawker Hurricane MkIIc (1:72 Scale Plastic kit) from Transport Models - Plastic Kits, Figures, Diecast Models, Model Raliways, Airbrushes, Books, Slots and Track.

Hastings Hobbies Ltd Revell Hawker Hurricane Mk II C Scale model kit

Revell 1/72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIC - 04144 - £4.49

I hope the above links help

Regards

David

What idiot decided this would be a 1:72 game???? I have just realised I have a Mk1 1:48 Hurricane (yep, the old, old Airfix one, should be a laugh) in my stash....

Who was the idiot. ME!!!!!! :fool:

Thread owner
I hope you have a full tube of filler for that kit Graham...lol

Thread owner
What? Are you saying it will not be up to Tamiya standards Ray????

Thread owner
lol.......a bottle of JD will help the kit go together, should keep your swearing to a minimum.

Hi All, if anyone's interest I've just put 3 Airfix 1/72 Hurries on ebay for a fiver! Had a vague plan to have 3 taking off with wheels in various states of retraction but will never get round to it. I'm not taking part in this, but it sounds like great fun. All the best with the braille scale Spits, Hurries, Messerschmitts, Heinkels, Dorniers, Stukas - with all this lot you could probably hold your own mock battle in 1/72!

Cheers

Paul
