Within his lifetime Flight Lieutenant Nicholson would be honoured once more by his country, appearing as himself in the Battle of Britain film which starred the cream of the British acting world including Sir Laurence Olivier, Michael Caine, Christopher Plummer, Edward Fox and Ian McShane.
That is from Tony's link. Unfortunately it isn't correct. Wing Commander Nicolson (note no 'h') was killed 2 May 1945 as an observer in a No.355 Squadron RAF B-24 which caught fire and crashed into the Bay of Bengal. His body was never recovered. He is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial.
