Andys Star wars GB keep here the chat you shall

And so it begins...

Wait, no. That's Babylon 5

Um, May the Fourth be with us
There, I've said it now so no-one else has to

I’d forgotten all about this GB. I’d best get my build down from the loft.

Okay, so recently I finally managed to complete the set of Rebel starfighters, with the A-Wing. It was cheap, comparatively

And these do show how LAZY the designers were with the sequels by just doing minort modifications on the X-wing and A-wing. And making the basic TIE a two-seater, albeit back-to-back
'That's a short range fighter.' 'Perhaps he got separated from a convoy?' And it's so small, the pilot hasd to wear his own life-support, so how...

No, talking about the sequels just upsets me...

So, while I'm here, the two biggest Star wars models I have in the house

The LEGO Executor. It's 120cm long and weighs a blinkin' tonne! Just had to dust it off a little. We did inherit a resin job recently, which was half the size of this beast, and actually not as good! All the others in the collection are boxed... Hmm, do I have a Y-wing? I forget

And, I thought I'd posted this already, but this is my brother-in-laws 3D printed, brass and aluminium 1/24th Y-Wing. Me, I'd have settled for a 1/48th one...

I might have ordered a 1/12 scale storm trooper jet bike thing....Direct from Revell, 20% on may 4th only. They say only send to EU but Denmark was NOT on the list.
I put it as Germany and send them a reply to the order confirmation. So either I get the kit or my money back... see we will what happens next we shall.

I must have lead a very sheltered life as have no idea what any of you are on about !
Will sit at the back and be prepared to be amazed.

Still struggling to find my mojo guys, so I'll sit back and maybe join in later

Wait, wasn't there a war in 1864 about that? Now there was a great, and enlightening, TV series...

Well I just got a mail from PayPal saying that my money is being sent back to the account. So I guess Revell do not consider DK as an EU land either.

That's weird .....
Obviously Revell need to reassess their opinions on borders:flushed:.

I once made a Tie fighter for a mates' kid ( on a pint commission ) - that's as far as Star Wars models had interested me, but 3D printing has thrown open a new avenue. I have files for a Tie Fighter Interceptor, and a Tie Fighter X1, from FAB365 https://fab365.net/
Strange little models, the body is printed in one piece, then folded....................
this has intrigued me, I'll be printing out the bits for the Interceptor ( I'd no idea that there were any TF variants ) & putting up a short blog............
ps - if you watch the video - note the liberal use of CA to fit the black panels - he never gets himself stuck to the parts! - If I did that I'd end up with some unusual false fingernails!

Okay:
Standard TIE in the movies
TIE Interceptor in 'Jedi'
TIE 'Special' flown by Vader
TIE Defender in 'Rebels'
TIE Bomber in' Empire'
Oh yeah, the V-Wing and Jedi Starfighter sort of count as kind of TIE prototypes / forerunners

Think that's all the TIE variants that appear onscreen, movies or TV. There are dozens more in games, comics and other stuff, and some of them are REALLY stupid, like the TIE tank. I kid you not
Note, I didn't include the 'red' jobs from the sequels, because that's just a lazy paint job

Oh yeah, almost forgot one. The yellow 'clip-wing' TIEs used by the Mining Guild and appearing in Rebels. They're missing the front two wing triangles, which would, of course, give the pilot a better view! Someone thought that through!

I know there is no daft question…. But when you finish a build in a group build do you leave it in your build post or add it to the completed builds section
simon

Generally it goes in the relevant completed section, in the group build sub section

So completed sci fi > completed group builds.

Or click here :smiling3:
