I thought I'd give this set a try just to see what the Atom paints were like to use. They spray on quite nicely but the colours do seem to be a bit "off".

The dark brown is almost milk chocolate in colour and the green is quite a vibrant green. I don't dislike the colours but they certainly seem a lot lighter than they should be. I sprayed them over a grey 1500 Mr Surfacer primer coat which might have had the effect of lightening them up but I'd be very surprised after 3 coats?

Has anybody else used this set and found similar results?

I've got a black primed "test spitfire" that I'll give them a go on and post the pictures once finished.

Thanks.

Those colours do seem a bit off. But you are right, the shade of primer can influence the top coat, but I doubt even black primer will bring those colours back to where they need to be.

I don’t seem to be having much luck with paint at the moment; opened up some AK 3rd Gen dark aluminium last night that I recently bought and it looks like the pigment is missing. It’s just a metallic shade of white! 🤷🏻‍♂️😂
