Now onto the nacell construction, this was a little tricky and had to be done by planking, These 2 guys took a hell of a long time to construct, a lot of sanding and shaping was involved.

Great to see you back here and what amazing progress you are making. I'm looking forward to seeing this one,I'm sure I speak for all the plastic bashers when I say it's a real treat to follow your builds.

Cheers

Thanks Steve, appreciate your comments. I doubt i could do such a good job as you guys with the plastic kits though, each to his own i guess. I have made a point of buying plastic kits for every model i build. God knows where i would put them when i build them, Ting Ting would moan like crazy if i hung them up in the house. lol.

I now have a P47 Kit, B25 kit, Tiger moth kit and a SE5a kit is on the way. I find these kits are great for obtaining information and scale detail from, especially the three veiws you get with them. I take the three veiws to work and blow them up on the plotter to A1 size, fantastic reference for rivit lined, panels etc.

Looking very good so far!

I build the odd plank on frame boat and as you said its not as hard as it looks but yes its very easy to over sand a nice soft bit of wood!!!

Looking forwards to the next installments.

Thanks Ian. Planking is ok if you are used to it, as normal this is my first attempt. Was a little worrying i must say.

Andy that is looking awesome!Have you figured a geuss on the final weight?

Hi Trey, thanks. i have no idea yet on the weight, i know at this stage that its not as heavy as the P47 i built last year. I would say that it should be lighter than intended due to the replacement of the engines with brushless motors, howvever, the batteries are quire heavy within them selves. I have over rated the power plant but that will have no compensation for fast incoming landing.

i intend to fly this one a couple of times then it goes for sale as i will need the room for the SE5a build i have scheduled next.

You are too kind Garham, your work is to be envious of, the tallent it takes to work on such small stuff is astounding, i take my hat off to all of you.

Andy, i have been following this for last few days and am awestruck at the detail and skill that has gone into this project, its making me want to learn to build and fly model planes. I can't believe your selling it after all your hard work.

Hi Darren,

Thanks for your comments. It is fun building and being able to fly, however, it does take a long time to complete such a project. This will have taken me around 12 months by the time i have finished it. Did you see my first build the P47 Thunderbolt?.

Cheers

Andy
