Warning reading this may be a toil :)

As some may know I quit my job the beginning of April having had enough of my new manager, yes it was a rash decision but I felt my depression creeping back on me and didn't want to be taking a trip to A&E again ( and yes he was that bad )

Anyway I've been living off the small amount of money they give you to "look" for work as well as selling of 90% of my model stash :( When/if my house sells I will get back what I really want again.

So the past two weeks

I've been sent on training courses on customer service, ironic when I've been in retail for 20+ years now and trained staff from part time to management level, anyway like a good little lad I passed all those courses. Last week they asked me to an interview for a job at a new Poundland, I attended, did all the group session and had an interview at the end. I was told they would contact me on Friday to let me know how it went.

On arriving home I received a call from Yodel regarding the neighbourhood courier job I had applied for in April and would I like to go to the open day, I said yes and went along yesterday.

I should say I didn't get a call from Poundland so assumed I'd been unsuccessful. Wednesday afternoon comes and Yodel offer me the role so I accept, yippee a job with real money!

Today I get a call from Poundland offering me the job!!!!

So basically I now have two jobs! My minds made up on the Yodel job, its more in keeping with what I wanted to do having had enough of retail customers, it's not just the young ones I find more and more that older shoppers are so rude and with such bad manners!

Anyway my point is I have a job :)

Adrian

Good for you Adrian! Well done coz being without work is awful as I know from experience.

Good luck with Yodel :)

Great news I too would have had a new job on Monday last, but my boss apologised and my missus cajoled me into staying where I am, hope I don't live to regret it. I am well pleased for you mate. Now get back to that modeling bench and model like your life depended on it.

Well done Adrian. Not good when the job situation is not good.

After an accident when about 59 I decided to give up my small business and get a job. After two weeks I actually went down to my car sat there and let go a load of tears I was so unhappy. Week after resumed my business happiness.

Hope you new job gives you happiness Adrian.

Laurie

Congratulations Adrian and good luck with the new job.

Excellent news, I also have lost a job and its horrible. Happy for you mate.

Good choice there. Working for yourself must be so much better although my old employer had a lot of stress employing people

Good stuff Adrian, sounds like you have found a job you will enjoy. I had no idea what the heck Yodel was so I looked it up. You may want to take some anti-nausea pills before driving that terrible shade of green ;)

Congratulations Adrian on not one but two positions!! Where will you find time for your modelling eh??

Good on you

Regards
