hey adrian i know your plight. I was working in a builders providers for most of my life with a really great boss. I was the purchasing officer i suppouse, checked invoices, paid bills everything up to getting goods on shelfs. Then I suppouse greed overcame me and i was head hunted for a new store opening near, they promised me the sun and moon and of course i accepted. But old boss called and wanted nme back, i dont know why i said no. So new plavce is terrible and recession hit in building trade here, so i was let off for a year, then taken back. Then put on 3 day week, and to top it all i had to go to jhospital for total knee replacement, and during this time yhey let me go. But on my pension now, and modelling has kept me sane and im now so happy and relaxed, so good news for you, love a happy ending.\ said:Warning reading this may be a toil![]()
As some may know I quit my job the beginning of April having had enough of my new manager, yes it was a rash decision but I felt my depression creeping back on me and didn't want to be taking a trip to A&E again ( and yes he was that bad )
Anyway I've been living off the small amount of money they give you to "look" for work as well as selling of 90% of my model stashWhen/if my house sells I will get back what I really want again.
So the past two weeks
I've been sent on training courses on customer service, ironic when I've been in retail for 20+ years now and trained staff from part time to management level, anyway like a good little lad I passed all those courses. Last week they asked me to an interview for a job at a new Poundland, I attended, did all the group session and had an interview at the end. I was told they would contact me on Friday to let me know how it went.
On arriving home I received a call from Yodel regarding the neighbourhood courier job I had applied for in April and would I like to go to the open day, I said yes and went along yesterday.
I should say I didn't get a call from Poundland so assumed I'd been unsuccessful. Wednesday afternoon comes and Yodel offer me the role so I accept, yippee a job with real money!
Today I get a call from Poundland offering me the job!!!!
So basically I now have two jobs! My minds made up on the Yodel job, its more in keeping with what I wanted to do having had enough of retail customers, it's not just the young ones I find more and more that older shoppers are so rude and with such bad manners!
Anyway my point is I have a job
