discussion Best panzer grey paint?

Evening

I know its been hotly debated, who makes the best panzer grey paint??

I have read it should have a blue tint and others it was a dark grey! I have vallejos version and used it on both the Stug 0 and 1st version of the A and yes its dark grey.

Any opinions??

Whichever you like most Bob. Accuracy is only as good as the eyes looking at it. Luftwaffe RLM paints are just the same. Hotly debated and massively different viewpoints. Pick the ones you think compliment it best.

I hope the Vallejo panzer grey is good as I just bought some, only one I could find that says panzer grey.
Will be watching .....

I'm a big fan of David Byrden's research on Panzer colours. He is of the opinion that Panzer grau was dark grey and nearly black in some cases. I have to agree with him based on photos and historical research. I'm not a fan of the blue grey look from an aesthetic or factual point of view.

Remember though its your build and if you want blue tint then you go for it.

Hi Al, i have started another GB Stug today and will need panzergrey so thought i would see whats peoples opinions are

Evening mr viking, i am also sticking to Vallejo. You go for the RLM number, but again theres arguments!!

AK real colour or MRP Panzer grey
Panzer should be dark dark and not be blue grey.

In the past I have used Lifecolor UA207 - Schwartzgrau - RAL7021.

But as peeps have said above it's basically dark grey !! :thinking:
If you go on other forums there are some good arguments!

Old? new? Wet? Dry? Clean?dirty? there are as many variables as there are shades of grey (Insert joke about 50 shades here).
As Ron would say if it looks right it is right.

With the amount of alteration they get with shading, filters, oils & weathering, I'm sure anything in the right kind of range would work.

The ones I have are Vallejo & Mr Color and both are dark greys, no real blue tint to them.
