Bill Foxley who was the 'burnt pilot' introduced to Susan in the Battle of Britain has died. A very sad day when yet another hero passes on.

What a shame, but time will take it's toll. These were incredibly brave men and reading that short article from your link, superb human beings. As you say, a sad loss of someone who put up with so much and by doing so, helped pioneer the surgery we take for granted today. RIP

RIP, Bill , And a heartfelt thankyou . tony

He must have reached a good age though. What a sad reflection on our society that people wouldn't sit next to him, and after all that he did for us.

RIP Bill- gone, but not forgotten for sure. Battle Of Britain is still one of my favourite movies. I recently caught it on the big screen during this years anniversary of BOB- the print was excellent, crystal clear and it brings a whole new dimension to the dogfighting scenes. Audio quality was also superb- no sound quite like the growl of spitfire!. If you watch closely, at the start of the film, the taxi-ing spitfire frantically trying to get off the ground in the airfield attack scene, explodes slightly BEFORE it hits the fuel tanker.

On the subject of film I did read 'Where Eagles Dare' was lined up for a remake- anyone aware on the story on this?- not heard anything since?
