It was 30 years ago today, during the 30th April / 1st May that the first Black Buck mission was flown all the way down to the Falklands. Despite some views, I think It was an amazing feat to send a 22 year old aircraft, all that way and back without any serious incident.

Well done to all involved.

And some very impressive holes they left in the ground after them.

Yes amazing feat. Especially as it was all cobbled together in a short period. Grabbing old pipes & things from scrap for the refuelling effort.

Same goes for the bomb element.

Very scary when they left the Falklands & did not know where their next fuel stop was going to be. Hard on Withers who was reserve & probably thought he was going along for half a ride.

Got to build this thing soon.
