The face is really nice he looks well lived in and very tired.

Well, he's finished.
The delay was due to trying to make my own decal for the helmet, because I knew I would never be able to paint it.
I'm not very familiar with graphics software so it took me quite a while, and my printer's resolution isn't great, but I got there in the end.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement, I really enjoyed this, I will definitely do another one.

Great stuff Neil. The whole really looks the part. Love the staining and dust especially. Looks like he’s just come from the front line.

Luck certainly had a bit to do with the painting-I wasn't expecting it to turn out so well at all. I must admit I'm quite delighted with it, it's probably the best thing I've done.
I must thank you especially for all the encouragement you have given me with my faltering efforts.
