It looks like my M113 is finally done:

It still needs a figure of an ARVN soldier, in the open spot to the left rear of the wreck, but I don’t have any suitable ones. I’ll have to go look for one I can convert, because I’m not aware of many that are available off the shelf.

I later realised I misinterpreted some things visible in that picture, so it’s actually more “inspired by” than the close recreation I had intended, but hey

Thanks, and yes, I definitely want a figure there for scale and human interest. Like I said, though, figures of ARVN soldiers in particular are very thin on the ground, for some odd reason. Luckily they had simple equipment, so I should be able to convert another fairly easily — once I find a suitably posed one, of course.

It's a cracking build Jakko, with the internals of the vehicle strewn about the place, you wouldn't think an armoured vehicle could come apart like that, but the picture proves they can!

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that Jakko,....did you ever see any of these in action in Nam? If you have then you have probably seen and perhaps wondered why the troops were riding on top of the APC instead of inside the beast itself. Not wanting an argument, just something to consider. I know what you’re referring to: they rode on the top because mine explosions under the tracks tended to be deadly to people inside. This, though, appears to have been an explosion of a satchel charge thrown inside the vehicle, meaning the structure had to withstand a lot of pressure from the “wrong” direction. It might well have withstood a similar explosion on the outside better. (There’s a Futurama episode where they take the spaceship underwater. Someone asks how many atmospheres of pressure it can withstand, and Professor Farnsworth replies, “It’s a spaceship. One!” )
