Greg, I looked at stuff like this when I did my two tank dios. They certainly are great reference although not nice to see.
How these poor people survive let alone carry on trying to get on with life always amazes me.
....and we in the west tend to moan at the slightest 'Inconvenience'.

Steven.
Nice though even if it takes time.
I like the idea for the shop front from that photo.
Also think
your reinforced concrete slab looks right.

the balcony ornament panels from marchone models only contained two pieces and as i have decided to ad another story to the building, I decided to cast some more

I have mounted the reamining piece to a wooden base with pva glue and will construct a mold using lego ( not shown) sealed the base with more pva glue covered the item with my home made mold realse agent pour RTV silicoene into it ( a so called One pour cast)

I wanted to use the railing for the top of the balconies but it grew too tall so I thought I would use it to make the windows more interesting - what do say?

Firstly Steven, congratulations to you and wife on the one to one scale creation.

I like the flower brick...it's so Asian. I actually have some in my garden. This will surely make the building more recognizable as a setting in the Middle East. What a great idea...I'll have to make a master and knock out some for my own or get a set from Marchone models.

Building and dio are looking good. I'll be watching.

Cheers,
Richard

Thanks for all the kind words :smiling4:- he was underweight, so for the past weeks he has been on a hellish force feeding schedule but now his weight is up to snuff and he can finally decide for himself when to sleep and when to feed :hungry:
Now, onward and upwards I do not normally praise stuff I buy, on forums but I have to say that I like these fuseboxes, connectors and brackets for wire mounting from royalmodel I plan to add some on the building with the typical jury - rigged wiring of the middle east buildings also the will be AC installations that will need connecting.

One of the fuseboxrs mounted on the sidewalk next to this part of the building there will be a utility post so it made sense to me to put it there

In the quarters that are most heavily contested houses are frequently barricaded with walled up windows and doors with fires slits in them , buttressed with makeshift sandbags. As the brickllying was done in haste and by unskilled hands ( maybe under fire) the workmanship was - shall we say shabby, so accordingly ( sandbags will be added later:
