I am surprised Chris that you had problems with the decal film. If left to dry it forms a skin over the decal and should have done the job. In any event you have got it sorted which is the main thing.
HI Steve yes i brushed it on a decal i dint want an left it for about 20 mins as it says on the bottle 15 mins so i left it a bit longer an i was amazed when i took the decall out of the water an used a cotton bud to gently push the decal off the backin paper but it just all fell to bits so not givin up i treid another decall from the sheet an this time left it for about an hr an still the same effect an you know i dont give up easy so on the third decall i painted it once left it for about a hr an then gave the decall a second coat of this decall stuff an give it another hr an i thought that should fix it so in the water again for the third decall an left it to soak about 20 mins an yes one of the numbers began to lift an i though thats got it so waited a bit longer an nothing else happened so grabbin some twezzers i picked up the decall by a small bit of paper i had left on the decall end an took it out an the whole number was ok an i though take that you bugger an pressed it down onto the spare fuel tank that was in the kit an concratulatin myself with a chok bar ice creame an i thought all is well in the world of decalls an was singin to myself not very well i might add lol but i was happy untill i looked at the decall an it had started to lift of the fuel tank so i with a soft cloth gently pressed it down again an then the decall just splinterd on the tank so with out pulling my hair out as not got much left lol i thought oh well what next an have to talk to you guys for advise thanks all an while i was sleepin it came to me about askin hannants so jen did an volay we got new ones an thats the short vershion on this lol

WELL GUYS im still battleing a way at this hustler as whoever done the mesruements at monagram must have had a bent ruler as all four engines wont fit the mounts in the wings so got to drill new holes in the wings an ive got to be very carefull that i dont drill through the nav lights wireing do they will be U/S oh dear more probs an TONY yakface did you have this problem ?
SO onwards an up
goin to sort them out today but gonna be awkward as i dont want to press to hard on the plane to drill the new holes an ive put the plane upside down on a cushion an when they will be ready to fit i will leave them off for now till ive fitted all the decalls another job im dreading

There are many build reviews that mention the poor fit of the engines Chris, so it's a common fault in the kit. There are a few work arounds mentioned, but they all require drilling. Hope you can get them fitted to your satisfaction.

WELL before i finish her off today just to say my idea of drilling out the engine mounts worked out brillianty so the engines are all on her an she looks a monster an heavy too but this kit was the worst kit for fitting that ive ever had an in future i will steer clear of MONOGRAM kits

WELL Downtime i dont know about a better builder but i do know that im shatered after fitting all them decalls took me two days to fit them all as they kept curling up on the paper when i lifted them out of the water an them engines were a horrendous fitt with big gaps as ive been modeling for 60 odd yrs an yes when i was young proberly did get some crap fits in kits but i dint worry but with this hustler kit bein espensive i really try my best till i get stressed out an have to have a rest an a cuppa an a nerve tab to calm down but hopefully you all will like her when i show the pics as she is finished now
