You're welcome sir - it gives me a chance to skive off working. :smiling:

It's not that the White Spirt wouldn't work by the way, but the 'making a mess' potential is rather high IMHO.
YES Arnie you are right there as i dont want to mess up this canopy as its quite big an if the cock tail stick dont work then i think leave it as may not be to noticeable when on the plane
cheers ATB my freind

What paint did you use? If it’s acrylics, and they won’t come off with a sharp cocktail stick as Arnold suggested, you can use some alcohol — any household type will do, really. It won’t affect the plastic but it will dissolve the paint.

Um.... I always use water based acrylics and the cocktail stick always works.... ;) It does have to be dry though.

HI Jakko i used humbrol satin black paint on the canopy same as on the nose

Chris, once the paint has had a couple of days to dry, then you can go around the canopy with the cocktail stick and the paint should come off,. I used to cut the stick into a wedge tip to help getting in the corners.
But what a beast - excellent.

Ah, yes, then alcohol isn’t going to work, and like you, I wouldn’t want to be using white spirit or similar on a clear part. The cocktail stick still seems like the best option to me too.

I'll bet this build is giving you nightmares. Real credit to you for sticking with it and making progress.

AN YES Jim im havin nightmares on top OF nightmares as this kit would have been a very intrestin kit to build what with all the things ive made work but trumpy really has let the kit down with poor an i mean POOR fitments an ive just treid on the canopy an its about 2 mm higer than the fusalarge so again poor fitment an i dont know how i can get over this as i dont want to file anything off the canopy to get a fit as knowin my luck i'll snap the canopy in two then i'll really be right in the do do an a pic of it here IMG_0123.JPG

AN HERE ive fitted some 2mm wide tamyia tape to give me hopefully a nice straight line for the anti glare on the nose of the plane an later this eve i will fit the black part on the fusealarge behind the canopy an i will have to forget about makin the canopy raise up an down due to the bad fit as ive got the hinge already to fit but this high no way wich is a pity as i love how sleek the tomcat looks when canopy is down oh dear IMG_0121.JPG

AN WHILE i was modelin look who has jioned me lilley our cat as i dint notice her sneak in an she is fast asleep on that chair with the cushion she is really hittin this sleepin bessiness with reknewd vigor LOL FIRST TIME IN HER 5 YRS WITH US THAT HAS HAPPEND LOLIMG_0120.JPGIMG_0118.JPG

AN JUST lookin at that cockpit i think ive thought up a way to get that canopy down them 2mm but wont say yet in case it dont work out ? an soon be lightin up time lol
chrisb

Chris,
Just a thought but would it be easier to fit the canopy in an open position, and not worry about the 'down' position..
fitting it open would negate any fit issues with it as you'd 'loose' the extra 2mm height that seems to be giving you problems, and allow you to see into the cockpit.

HI ALL well this is the time youve all been waiting for the big tomcat is in my opinion is now finished an its been a heck of a build one that id not care to do again but now she has her decals all touched up an such she now looks like an acceptable model of a tomcat in the U/S Navy J/R SQR an i think ive over done on how many pics i have taken but as the model is so big its been a job to get some good pics of her with her lights on IMG_0125.JPGIMG_0126.JPGIMG_0127.JPG
