Bob's Sturmgeschutz GB Chat thread

Morning Bob

My knee is recovering slowly but surely, all going in the right direction, even if it can be frustrating at times.

Research done and I shall have tow cables, spare wheels and upgrade the clasps with the PE set.

Tracks first as PE wouldn't survive that much handling.

Have a great Christmas and all the best to you and your family

Best regards

Steve H

Hi all

I feel that I need to apologise, being you could say in charge of this GB. I should posting more and certainly commenting on others great work every day.

However my health issues are getting in the way, i tried to do more on the dreaded engine bay today but due to fatique and joint pains i had to stop and retire to the settee. My doctor has told the college that the chances of me returning to work are next to zero. So i am hoping that my application for a ill health retirement will now proceed.

Sorry all

Regards bob

As above Bob, health first, hobby later :thumb2:

I'll still be rattling along with mine when you're back up and running lol.

Sorry to hear about your health issues Bob. Which college do you work at? I was a Lab Technician at Llandaff Tech for nearly 9 years.
Pete

Thanks to you all, its very much appreciated, only positive is reading my tiny Stug book collection! Just hope i can the retirement thingy sorted asap

Hi Pete, Cardiff and Vale, use to be Coleg Glan Hafren. I teach or use to teach apprentice truck and bus technicians and really enjoyed it. Had numerous messages from X students wishing me well which i find very touching:thumb2:

Don't sweat it Bob. You take care of yourself and your health first. That engine compartment isn't going anywhere until you get back to it. At my rate, you will probably have both StuGs built and finished before I get paint on my one!!!

Gute Besserung Bob

Allen

Bob,
sorry to hear your health isn't improving. I took early retirement partly because of my health, and also because I could ( golden handshake !).
I hope that you can take ill-health retirement - it will remove any doubts for the future, and the removal of stress can't do anything but good!
Dave

Hi Pete, Cardiff and Vale, use to be Coleg Glan Hafren.
It was still Rumney College in my time Bob. I started an Electrical Technicians C & G course there, but travelling to Rumney was such a pain (lived in Canton then) I dropped that and did a Radio & TV course at Llandaff instead. I loved working there but the pay was crap for technicians. I started part-time teaching to cover for a lecturer who was on sick leave, and just 4 hours p/t teaching pay more than doubled my weekly take-home.
Pete

Went to Rumney tech as a 1st yr apprentice way back in 1977! Yep tech pay is still poor and they wonder why they cannot get good staff!

Morning Bob

Just take each day as it comes, some maybe bad, some could be better, enjoy the building when you can.

The world of work will take care of itself, sadly ""they"" don't always like to let go!

Look after yourselves

Best regards
