Now that the box is in the "bag" so to speak, what's next?......or are you still under sedation? :tongue-out3: ;)

Who's a busy boy then ,looks like a move away from the build for a bit has kept the enthusiasm flowing ,catch up with you soon on the other side. Dave

First box done Rick, now the internal and main one is ready to be worked on . Today the Kappa face boards will be exposed and the long job of imprinting bricks on some areas .No need for sedation when working with foam board :nerd:

Today saw the fixing of the outer box to the frame. Using 3M double sided 5mm wide tape after much measuring and marking out with scrap bits of modelling tape.
Removing the face cover of the double sided tape is fun, the grip is so good I have to use the scalpel blade to hold the sticky section down and a pair if fine tweezers to removes the surface cover.
Fitting the box itself is a one chance affair, go wrong at this point and its back to the drawing board.

All stuck down now the removal

Box on .

Looking ok.
Decided to add a glue line inside the frame / box just to make sure.

Then to make doubly sure some weights on top ! Can't take and risks can you ;)

Then I had a slight tidy up , panic not fellow members of the UTC , only the bench area. Seeing this Christine called for Matron !

Thanks for looking in.
John.
That looks great Mr.Race. :)
Really like how the Wood of the front frame finishes it off, excellent stuff!

That 3m tape is very good but with the risk of leverage there I think you are wise to use the glue as well
Hi Neil, yes it seemed the right thing to do .It's perfect when sitting in the table but if you lift it without support the whole thing could pull away .

Evening all .
Little more done, internal support for the dio it's self
Removal of face paper on the Kappa , showing the reason why I always use it for scribe work.

Support.

Cut out insides had been done

It just lets the base sit below the sightline from the front.

Base on temporary, those lines on the base floor show the upright side marks.

Glued with UHU POR . weights on and left to dry.

The Kappa Line board is the only one that allows you to remove the face paper with out heat, just a block to pull the paper back top as its removed, saves the board snapping in two .

Other sheet to hold the board down.

John.

Hi John, just looking through and expected the engine to start up. Latest carpentry has gotten me confused...have to see the end result to understand better.

Cheers,
Wabble

A lot done to day, working on foam board.

First off the exposed wall , originally had a rough plaster on, fell off with the damp exposing the brick and stone work.

The back of the dio has the door in the wall .

2022_2.jpg
Been adding the buttress to the main wall

2022_6.jpg
Three of these , this one has some damage to the bottom section. Bricks to be scribed on later.

Door supports done. The right hand side has a slope from an external section which is not yet built.

The door, fun to do .

This is why I can't clear up at night, stuff drying over night.

Thanks for looking in.
