Very tidy again, must be me that is the only scruff on the forum... Must be nice to have that window light, all my work is one in a corner away from the window supplemented by a really good desk lamp. What mor could a chap ask for than a neat workbench, plenty of light and a mug of tea while contemplating the next stage or even the next build.

Another thing I have noticed is the wonderful array of paint racks you all seem to have! Mine are all over the place apart from a few in a box

I've only really just got started on facebook, and to be honest I don't know what the hell I'm doing. I went on today and was bombarded with half a dozen people all with different conversations all communicating differently - chat, conversation and on 'the wall'. Eeee, it's not like when I worra lad, if ya fancied a chat ye'd just shout owa fence and 'ave a chinwag like!

ps. Getting up to make a cuppa helps the knees from seizing when you've been modelling a few hours!

Tony, the camo's ok the first time but when you've got 5 more of the bl@@dy things it's a bit of a chore!

SWMBO has started to suggest that I need another shed when the kids playhouse has been moved onto the garden patio. New model shed or is it a new home including the teasmaid.

Graham, you've not seen the rest of the room!

Don't know if you noticed the modelling tray, but that's quite a good idea if you fancy moving about a bit without having to pack up everything. I'm not claiming that as my own idea I read it somewhere a few years back. It's good if you fancy say, putting together individual link tracks in front of the telly!

Dave (Gurn) would love that, he thinks individual link tracks are the best thing since sliced bananas on toast........

I am quite lucky in that I have the workbench (my computer desk) in the living room so I can keep up with Eastenders, Strictly and X-Factor while modelling (did I say lucky????). I just use the shed for spraying and storing some of the stuff. I would like a separate room though, probably have to see if they let me have one in the Old Folks Home when I end up there.....

When models attack!.

Well the models have well and truely taken over. I originally made this workspace/room to allow me to work on rc cars and do some modelling in the remaining space, it was about 65/35 with the majority to the rc cars. Slowly the modelling stuff has been creeping over and over until today and i thought sod it, all the rc cars stuff is now stored on the shelves above and the rest of the stuff in the tool box which is now relagated to the floor. i got all my boxed models out and sorted now, i didnt think i had this many(although its not alot by most standards), and the 1/35th dragon railgun isnt even there.

I just want one more thing for now and thats one of those airbrush booths with the extractor and filter, i will get one as and when i can.

A little bit of an update on my workspace, with an ever growing amount of weathering/washes etc etc i made a shelf unit type thing too hold them all, lso moved a few other things round to make the room more sable for modelling.

Btw if anyone is after a light for modeling have a look in Argos at the one i just bought, its the grey one on the right, it moves and turns in every direction and comes with a clamp type mount and a weighted desktop mount to, it uses a fluorescent tube and only cost £17

I'll get a photo of me on my avatar if I can work out how (to be honest, I haven't even tried yet) and will get a picture of my homemade workstation as soon as possible.

I'm pretty jealous of you guys who have your own spaces, I have to use my homemade workstation on the living room floor (which has to be cleared up at the end of each painting session in case any 2 or 5 year old sabotauers.

Ladies and gents i would like to introduce my hovel at the bottom of the garden, as you can see that it's a bit tight with all other tools and junk, will be taking it all out and sorting it properly come spring, i would post a picture of me in the cave but i don't want a bill on my doormat for a load of computer monitors with cracked screens:smile:.

Finally thought I should contribute to this thread after reading all the others and now that I am not confined to a small area in the house.

My den gets quite cosy with the heater on with these cold winter nights descending upon us and being at the end of the garden is peaceful especially when the kids are up!

My shed

My shed is an historic old fire station on a disused airfield,many happy hours are spent here, I really like the countryside with the birds singing away outside,over the years I have built my models in everything from a coal house to a mere building board on my lap.

Great to see the wide variety of workplaces here.

I've just been having a brew and I have spent a pleasant few minutes going through this thread ,start to finish and reading all the humourous posts, great stuff!

I also noticed it's a year since I started the thread and it's good to see it's still going.

I have one observation though, there are still people who said they would post their mugs on here but have not done so yet. So come on, everyone makes a few mistakes in their lives, so let this be one of them!!!

The invite goes out to all the 'Newbies' too. Go on, you can do it!
