It sold to a very nice man in Portsmouth he drove all the way to Runcorn to Collect it. £400 may not seem a lot but the way I look at it, it's worth what someone will pay for it, and it owes me nothing as I got 2 years of immense pleasure from building it.

As long as you are happy with what the auction raised, the pleasure you got out of building it and that the recipient really appreciates his newly acquired model is all that matters at the end of the day.
It's a bit of a coincidence that the buyer lives in Portsmouth, home of the full size HMS Victory !

Yes I was happy to see it go to it's true home and remember walking past her when going to work in the 80's when stationed at HMS Nelson and working in the dockyard
I'd have thought it worth ten times that but as you said it's gone to a good home.

YES Pete i aggree with you sir as all my warships ive sold admittedley they were big r/c warship went for a lot more than that esp my nimitz went for a very good price but if bri is happy then thats that isnt it

HAVE you ever done one Bri ? as they can get pretty costly but in my opinion dont buy a kit as thats where the cost comes in but from what ive seen of your work which is amazeing this is just my opinion but on all my warships you can buy a grp hull an the plans an then scrach build the rest or do like i did on my BIG NIMITZ an just buy the plans an scracth build the hull also mind you it took me 7 yrs of build time but was worth it to see her sailing on the pond an all the generall public askin queustins about the model but she was big at near 9 ft long but you can get smaller boats than that have a look on model boats mayhem forum as im a memeber of that an there is some very helpfull guys on there but keep on here as well an i will be pleased to help you if you want to know anything if i canRC models go for a lot more than static display models thinking of doing a RC model maybe next

AN BRI if you look back through the ships build pages there was a guy from new zealind called his handle was trowws i think an his name was gary an i should think some of the guys on here remember him as he took a likeing to my type 23 frigate HMS NORFOLK in 1/72 scale an he went an scatchbuilt one in about a yr or so an he sailed it an i think he is still a member on here its just that he dont post much due to health probs so now he is doin art water colours as a hobby

SO BRI you mean a grp hull then just look at fleetscale as they do grp hulls or sirmar if they are still goin as im a bit out of the swim now but what type of boat or ship do you want eg' warship or civvie ?

Un decided atm but maybe an old ship i served on type 21 or Leander maybe , this is all a way off yet!!
well Bri the type 21 hms amazon was my first r/c ship with grp hull an it sailed like a drunk pig an took a lot of lead wheight to her keel before she sailed ok but she looked nice on the water an she was in 1/64 scale as the hull was used by the MOD for test puposes in a big water tank an my freind has still got his an its HMS AVENGER BUT THE HULLS WERE 6 FT LONG
