I am amazed at times to find that some have two or many more models on the go.

I must be weired as I cannot handle more than one at a time. If I started a second I would not go back to the first or if I did I would not make a good job of it as i would have lost interest.

I do find enough work on one model, and plan it that way, to ensure that I am not left waiting around etc. I find it is bad enough having left, due to circumstances, a model and then picking it up again.

Put as a matter of no interest what so ever ;) a poll.

One at at time, I may have one that I have started but if I get bored it goes back into the box and I start another one. Always just one...cannot cope with anymore :D

Although I normally try to stick to one at a time, I do at times have two on the go. More often than not a long build and a short one, or one that takes a long time to paint.... Multiple colour camouflage for example. Just gives me something to do while the paint dries.

Like Ian I too usually try to have just one. If I have two of the same kit I'll try to do a production line to make it easier. Did that recently with the Sea Hurricanes and Vampires. The B-17 has no running mate, it's got so much to do on it that there is no space or time to do anything on the side.

I do real try to only have one on the go at a time, but get boarded waiting for paint to dry or

I get stuck at a stage and things just don't seam right in my eyes so start ,

A new one until I ,sort out whats doing with the one i was not happy with,or doing

Multiple colors, that i do need to set for a few days, ;)

I am currently doing two at the same time, both for group builds and both on here, too.

It is unusual for me to have just the one on the go.

I used to have 3 or 4 on the go but came to the conclusion that's why I was making such a poor job on my builds, so now the max I have is 2 and the second one is only started as I decal the first.

I dont have the time for more than onereally but I was considering trying it while paint dries etc... but helping Lucy with hers fills those gaps!

In some ways I agree with you LAurie but I my case I start a project oh let's say for instance a 1/48 B17G

I then do the research on a certain "fort" that is not the box art, then I find out about the crew etc and the pilot..,,,, this may lead me off in a different direction as say this pilot flew Douglas Bostons before joining that bomber group. I then get a Boston start that while I'm doing the fort.

The I'll read something else on reference search and that may lead me to a vehicle ( armour) etc etc the list goes on.

I joined here in March and never had done a diorama before othe than those ones that AIrfix etc did years ago.

I have seen some fantastic pieces of work on here and it has inspired me a lot more, maybe I could build one.

I now have a lot of pieces for my diorama " Ardennes Assault ( the diorama base is coming along but as we all know we are very critical of our work.I am hoping to get it finished as soon as I get more time to work on it.

MY work I do restricts me to the time I can spend modelling, plus other things in life ( oh did I mention the wife!!!

The Vallejo paints ( which thanks to you are growing in size and quantity, as I find them very accurate to the work I do ie in correct colours and ease of use.

So back to how many projects I have on the go ( well I have lots started and a few kits I'll never finish as I lose interest as they are quite complicated builds.

This is not a cop out as my wife has just said but it's more I need more info on that particular build.

Last weekend I was working on the dio base and while waiting for paints to dry looked at other kits I have in my stash and this has brought new fresh ideas in to the front of my mind ie reference materials to complete this build etc etc the wheel never stops.

Will I aspire to the talents of some of the guys on here ? I'll never know.. And now I'm looking forward to my birthday and a new Airbrush ( fingers crossed )

Maybe I should start showing off the stuff I did before I joined here.

Kind regards

Robert

Oh I aspire to be as patient as you Adrian. You make sense of the reasons we should not do more than two.

Robert

I have a maximum of 3 at a time as anymore than that just blows my mind but I do try to keep it at two.

It's abit like girlfriends when your were young nobody was ever happy with just the 1! ;)

That's me Laurie I'm guilty

BBMF Lancaster

BBMF Dakota

Assault Ardennes ( diorama) 75% complete)

2 x Sdkfz 251/a 251/d

3 Gloster Gladiators ( faith hope and charity)

1/48 Fw190 A8

Boeing B17G 1/72

They are most near completion but for my A/b probs but I'm getting there and once I get a new A/b they should be rolling out of here in no time.

Blimey! The staff car, is that the Hasegawa Mercedes? I have that one, was thinking of doing it soon.

i try to have only one on the go.....occasionally i will have a little side project to tinker with when the main one gets to that point where i can do a little then have to wait til maybe the next day before i can continue

but i prefer just the one on the go otherwise i find myself getting distracted....prefer to be able to concentrate on one at a time

recently due to several reasons i actually had 4 kits at various stages........it was just torture! ....didnt know which way to turn...in the end i just picked one, finished it...moved on to the next til they were done...then went back to starting something new

Not 100% sure John I bought it off e bay few years ago it's in stages ( chassis, body, engine, but I snapped the rear axle and thought to replace it but never got round to it. It's 1/35 scale and grey in plastic form very detailed.

I was thinking at the time to get hitler and goering in 1/35 but never found any so at present in a shoe box at the corner of my stash. Have not worked on it for a while now.

That's my next plan of action

I will not start any more kits as I need to concentrate on 1 at a time and then finish them.

My DIorama is the main one I want to get finished but I'm waiting on a towing cable ( from Japan to finish my 1/35 HEtzer off. Post takes so long from Japan to UK

Robert
