I took this screen grab from a film about the old V bomber force and the Blue Steel missile.

It shows two Vickers Valiants flying low over our lovely countryside.

The camouflage definitely works :)

I could be totally wrong here, but maybe not.

I think it was you Steve that demonstrated the art of camouflage showing us a pic of a Me 109 (maybe) flying over a rock strewn desert. The camo on that plane was brilliant.

Two? My monitor only shows one, where's the other?

I remember that 109 too Colin. Let's see it again Steve.

it dose some think I ,always remember is from the start

of who dears wins ,is when there flying through the alps

of how well that the camo worked against them, ;)

Aren't they Victors?
You know what, they are. Good spot!

The film was about Victors, don't know why I wrote Valiant.

Yeah that 1st 109 shot is quality, that would be very very difficult to see from height or distance wouldn't it, especially as everything back in them days was in black and white:p

That first Bf109 pic reminds me of the one the Daily Star used many years ago to show the B17 supposedly found on the moon!

Probably one of these two
The top picture. Have you got basically the same picture, but in colour and maybe heading the other way ? That's what I seem to remember. I'm being a bit fussy now...................

There is this, which I think might be colourised. It was reproduced in one of my JG 27 books, not sure which now :)

Just my opinion but I think if the plane was moving it would be less affective but it's still very good I have that desert 109 in an old book on the said aircraft

Roger

Let's hope he never had to fly over water - not much chance in a desert I know.

Not as well camouflaged as this one:

I saw a model of this at one of the shows a few years ago - think it was Coventry. I never found who built it so I could ask him where he got the paint from!
