discussion Canopies in clear acrylic?

As I understand future is basically a clear acrylic in nature and is used extensivly for making clear parts more "clear"

I can't get future here and my contact for Klear in the UK didn't pan out.

Here is my qiestion. Has anyone diped canopies in clear Tamiya acrylic??? Will it do the same as future, or are there solvents in tamiya that will damage the styrine???

On a similar vein, does anyone know whether an airbrushed coat of Vallejo Gloss will also work. I can get my head around using floor polish on models!

I've been dipping canopies in the Lakeland Klear-a-like "QuickShine" stuff and it seems to do a good job; but looks like I'll have to find a QuickShine-a-like now because the Lakeland website says "This will be your last opportunity to buy this item: we won't be ordering any more once we run out of stock."

It gives clear parts a nice shine, they appear thinner and it hides tiny scratches and the like. And if you make a total cockup painting it, it makes it easier to remove the paint and start again. If the canopy is not fixed to the fuselage that is...
