Just a few shots to show the interior in situ.

There's still a load of bits to add ... shame it's covered up , although you can see a fair bit of it through the hatches and turret if get close up as i've just found out from losely fitting the hull top.

Shame they didn't include an engine to sit in the back compartment, it looks bare .... time to browse for some pictures and scratch one methinks.

The 32 (YES.. 32 !!!!) ammo sleeves come in two parts in the kit, The "lid" is a little disc about 1.5mm across, i've found it's best to just cut them roughly off the spue and glue them first, they can be cleaned up easier when in one piece.

This was a task equal to the tedium of "wheel building"

Looking really nice Colin. Cant you find a resin engine for it? That would be the cherry on top of the cake!

Resin might be an option Ian, although if i can find a decent shot of the interior then i can have a bash at making one, after all we have loads of time to do this in eh :) :)

Ok then, got a few little clocks and dials painted, added the ammo pods and scratched a little W12 engine for the back end. took a few reference points from a "salvage squad" program that renovated this particular tank in one episode.

hope you like :)

Thanks chaps ... it just looked a bit sad with all the detail in the lower hull .. but no engine?

The kits full of detail and its a puzzler that the engine isn't represented on the sprues.

Ole ... you have to visit the edge of insanity sometimes to get a result, you should know this from that awesome wacky paintjob you did on that biplane ..... :) :) :)

well the botton half is done build-wise, lower hulls just had a black wash to give the impression of in-grained dirt here and there (just started with the mud effects on the front).

You can still see a lot of the inner detail if you peek in through the hatches etc so i've glued it in place and given my "lid-off" idea best as its going to interfere with the up and coming diorama :) .

opinions ?? ....

Thanks chaps .. a few more to peruse :)

Got the main turret frame completed, painted the internals with a base coat to save fiddly end painting.

View attachment 47865View attachment 47866

Attached all the tools to the rear, washed over ready for some dust etc.

View attachment 47870

odds and sods for the dio, found some correct plastic tracks as the ones in the kit were the wrong sort (had no metal tread and rivet details) have trimmed, painted and weathered them ready to attach (somewhere)

View attachment 47867View attachment 47869

And a picture to show tippex (correction fluid/liquid paper) used as a filler (tops got blobs on, bottoms been sanded)

Got the turret 95% finished (will touch up the little bits when it in place) Have left out the two racks with the three 17pdr shells as these have been removed for the purpose of the dio, i have scratched the attachment brackets for the racks and these are in place within the turret.

View attachment 47976

made a start on the ground work, rocky outcrop type thing, got grasses and moss and a few bushes to add, then just add a few washes and homemade pigments to blend it all in.

View attachment 47979

Got the trees made up and the trunks have a little moss attached, they just need the foliage attaching.

View attachment 47977View attachment 47978

Now to attack the LMS for the figures i've decided on after a rethink on the dio story.
