Well I never though I would be posting in the diorama section of the forum, but here I am, mixing it with the big boys and girl.
I think this classes as a diorama, tell me if I'm wrong.
What have we then ? The subject is a cheap 1:72 Stuart M3 'Honey' and a horse. The Tiny Tank measures about 6cm in length with the whole dio' measuring 22 x 20cm.
I tried to make a pond out of PVA glue, if I ever do this again, I won't use PVA, it takes forever to dry. This puddle (which was meant to be a pond) still hasn't cured fully.
The rocks are actually old mortar from an old paving slab, and the ploughed field is a bit of corrugated cardboard off of a coffee cup ala 'Cosford'
The mud is real, mixed with PVA glue.

The Horse, I nearly forgot - here it is. One for the Cosford massive.

One for the Sci fi people. Invasion of the giant Ladybirds. It was a tricky little sod to paint, but I think I got the gloss coat quite nice.

The funny thing was, I think it took a lot longer to build the scene than the Tank ! But I'm sure you dio' people know all about that.
Any comments are welcome, even suggestions should I ever dip my toe into this arena again. Although there will be no dipping in my puddle !

Excellent job colin , the scene looks great, although the farmer isnt going to be pleased when the driver goes across his neatly ploughed field! Top work on the tiny 'oss too , cheers tony

This leaves me the last to finish as usual, but this is a cracker!

Mind out for the dio work Col, it can creep up on you and you'll find yourself thinking about where and how you can show off your builds!

Whoa there boy! Hehe that's excellent Colin! I love the whole scene - the rocks & field look particularly good.

It's never easy making models in tiny scales, but you've pulled it off

One really excellent build. You should be well pleased with the result. I would be.

You have obviously given some thought to the picture composition too, and what a difference this makes to a presentation - take note folks.

Just one minor niggle - It looks like you've forgotten the antenna on the Ladybird......

Looks like the King of diorama's is satisfied too. The Ladybird antenna, look hard, really hard.

gigantic ladybird is exceptionally well painted

Quite a rare kit, often unavailable in the winter months. Shhh, nobody noticed. I think I got away with it.

And finally a big collective thank you to you all for the most amazing comments. The origins of the dio' lay with the Cosford Massive, in particular Ron who mentioned a plough field - and the rest was history. Mind you finding a horse in the box was a bit of a surprise - flippin' horse.

Cheers John. The box was one of those things I just couldn't throw away, I knew it had a use. You know what modellers are like !

First diorama or not, Colin, this looks fantastic. The tank has turned out really well and I love the rocks. Great use of 'found' objects too. I guess it's the thing modellers and conceptual artists have in common...
