You lucky model maker, Colin, all the aircraft will look clean & pristine what more do you want ?

My third grandson Matthew, 8 years, is coming for the day. He has asked after seeing my small number of models & what my first & second grandsons completed (9 & 10 years) under my "supervision", some hope. 2 Hurricanes completed. Paint as thick as tar.

Matthew has a Hurricane & a Red Arrow to choose form. What do you think, I think it will be a Red Arrow.

To complete the story. Matthew, actually stupid Grandad I am, he is seven chose ....... the Hurricane believe that ?

Did the Red Arrows have guns. No. Then I want the Hurricane.

Well set him on his way at my modeling station. A few bits of do this do that from me, a couple of cannot do this from him, yes you can & he did. So went home to mum & dad with a constructed Hurricane painted two coats & he did it all himself. He is coming back to apply decals & Cockpit cover etc. He read all the instructions & put it together very cerefully.

Actually we have a Jersey Cosford in early September. About 3 hours of aircraft across the bay. Aircraft, Helicopters, Acrobats & Skydivers from all over the world celebrating the Battle of Britain. Every year dominated by the indomitable three, Lancaster Spitfire & Hurricane & what else, yes, the Red Arrows.

Before the show & for the next day all aircraft are on show at the airport. So not totally left out.

A total waste of time ! The weather was so bad nothing of WW2 origin would / could fly, hence no BBMF etc. The Red Arrows could only go around in circles the clouds were that low. And of coures the Vulcan is fair weather only, and we were along way off 'fair weather' So, nobodys fault it was just awful british weather.......So Laurie, at least you and your Grandson saw a Hurricane - more than I did.

My father in law was in Jersey for the airshow last year, he said it was very good - Vulcan and red arows in formation.

There were however, 2 Tornados. I haven't seen these fly in years and were nice and loud, lots of car alarms going off. They bought a smile to my face for 4 minutes !!

So, well at least Jenson Button won the GP.

That really is not so good Colin especially after all the good weather recently.

Yes a good show in Jersey. Filmed a conference a couple of years ago & it culminated with an afternoon out for the delegates at the Jersey Air show which I was told to film. The most difficult thing I have ever attempted trying to located an aircraft then film it. How those who film golf & follow the ball I will never know. They had a Catalina flying boat. One of the most attractive aircraft I have ever seen in the air or on the ground. Not seen it on the water. Reminded me of a swan the lines are so delicate.

Yes Button won seems to have a clever style. Been watching to much football he just pushes the competition off the track.

hoho, did you see the miserable face on that cocky cant lose vetell, made my day and what a drive by jenson. her indoors was not impressed we me sitting on my backsade for 5 hours
