I tried him with normal eyes for a start (i.e. you could see the whites and pupil) but it made him look like some crazy old man you'd see sitting on a park bench counting pidgeons.

Finished up just blotting out most of the detail with some oils to give him a furrowed perplexed look ... seems to have worked.

Yes, he's sort of raising his pipe and probably telling his grand kids to get off the bren carrier!

I notice that sometimes eyes can be overdone. In 1/35 I firmly believe there should be hardly any detail on them. Your man here probably has squinty eyes anyway....

The above is purily my take on eyes as others will probably think differently ( I put this in 'cos elsewhere I dared to challenge 'Experts' with my views and received a very rude and arrogant response.)

He looks just right to me, Colin.

You're right, eye's can be over-done giving a model that frightened rabbit look !!!

Sometimes it's just good enough to give the eye socket a shadowed/darker look to it .... your imagination makes up the rest of the detail most of the time.

Don't forget this about experts....

EX = a "has been"

SPURT = a strong gush of something !!
