Completed yesterday after giving it a final matt coat.

This kit was a real pleasure to build. clearly labelled parts and instruction booklet, very little flash.
Painted with a mix of Lifecolor & MrColor acrylics with the odd splash of Humbrol, for good measure.
Little bit of weathering - well I tried !! :flushed: :smiling2:

Very easy to draw comparisons to the Tamiya 20mm Flak 38 which in reality was what the German builders
had to work with.

Would I change anything in the kit?
The answer would be no.
Could the kit benefit from anything?
The answer is definitely yes - a transport trailer would be nice!
A flak bunker or emplacement to handle this size gun!!
(Now where did I put that concrete mix???? :smiling2::smiling5:;)).

There are crew figures available from Das Werk to compliment the artillery pieces, currently retailing at around £13 each?? or around £36?? per set of 3 (But there are also many other figure kits available - so it depends how you want to display it).

Hi Paul,

Wow, this came out really well and you have done a superb job here Sir!!! Love the finish and don't worry about the weathering as they weren't used that much anyway (if at all). I agree that a trailer would be a nice addition, but a bunker would also be cool...Tops!!!

Thanks Allen, there is very little about these prototype guns online - the best site is the amps site :-

There are 16 original photo's towards the bottom of the page handy if you want more detail.

Cracking Paul, very impressive

Thanks Bob, they did put a version on a panzer IV chassis - but forgot to put Stug in the vehicle title!!:flushed::smiling2:

One to be proud of Paul. I enjoyed watching this one come together. Looking forward to seeing more of your work

Thanks Steve, I hope one day to incorporate that gun into a small diorama!!
Keeping an eye out now for a cheap Tamiya 2cm Flak 38 - just so I can try the trailer?

Already picked the next victim ;), and its not the Das Werk 2 cm Flak that keeps
jumping at me every time i open the stash cupboard :flushed::smiling2::smiling2:

Thanks Barry,

Completed this one a while ago!!
The groundwork is a ready made mat just placed there for effect.
Have purchased additional ammo for it and some suitable "Dragon Models" figures that
may work without too much fettling about.
Still keeping an eye out for a suitable base/bunker for it tho.

The 2cm flak trailer Anh51 is way too light, you'll need the 3.7cm or 2cm flakvierling trailer Anh52 or 58 I think. PaulE

Paul,

Yes, thanks the 52 (Tamiya's Flak 38 Quad) is the closest fit.
I think there is a minor adjustment to do on the gun platform mount to make it a better fit.

There's no rush tho because I have a :-
