Thanks to @Geoffers for hosting this GB.

I will be building the Pyro 1/16 Harley-Davidson Electra-Glide (M-157-125)

Box contents will follow.

That is all for now

That's a rare golden oldie. Guessing 1960s? Look forward to seeing how you get on with it.

Thanks Jim. It is a first boxing from 1967 so, as you say, it is a rare beast.

As a "first edition" the moulds will be at their best so hopefully not too much flash and sharp detail.

As promised, here are the box contents.

The parts are almost free of flash but there are a lot of ejector pin marks to clean up. There are quite a few chrome parts but I will probably strip off the chrome and repaint. The transparencies are crisply moulded but the visor has some small scratches that will need to be polished out. The "rubber" tyres are virtually flash free:

The other parts are moulded in a blue-grey plastic and are almost flash free but there are a lot of seams to clean up:

Instruction Leaflet - Side 2 - Detailed Assembly Instructions. These are similar to the old Airfix "locate and cement" style which means you learn what the parts are as you build:

I was disappointed that there are no decals provided by Pyro although considering the age of the kit they may well have been of little use anyway.

I am afraid, not Pete, it will be similar to the boxart. Thanks for the YouTube link. (y)

I have made some progress this morning.

The blue parts were removed from the runners and are ready for cleaning up:

The chrome parts were removed from the runners but no cleaning up yet:

They were then put in a freezer bag of Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner:

Most of the chrome finish disappeared almost immediately but I left the parts to soak for another hour. I then gave the parts a good rinsing in soapy and then clean water:

Next step will be to clean up all of the parts, fettling their fit as I go.

That is all for now
