Finally I got to open the box up it all looks most excellent I've had a quick look at the instructions looks like I can build it with the rotors folded which could be fun.
On the plus side I found a use for the plate warming rack that came with the new cooker. I have made a paint holder other wise I would foresee a mess.

Good thing to have two pots of yellow for that size of helo Dave.

Nice choice and smart move to make a paint pot holder.:thumb2:

I take it's the new mould seaking and not that awful one and I wish you good luck with all that yellow.

Hi Dave, that's certainly a lot of yellow good luck with the painting.

Yes it looks to be very crisp so I guess new tool. depending how this one goes I may do another and use the airbrush etc..

Following.

I'm a total newbie but am looking to build one of these as my second model. My brother used to fly in SAR Seakings as a winchman before the service was privatised, so they hold a particular interest for me.

Looks like a nice kit...and not a bad size. Looking forward to seeing how it goes together :thumb2:

Hi Dave
So far the only helicopter in the GB. So far so good but the yellow is yet to come.

I had forgotten about the glue it turns stringy very quickly but experience has helped I use the kit box to put a small amount on and a sliver of box to apply it with.
I'm really enjoying the process no PE no filler no airbrush just 4 colours not sure what the result will be but it's very enjoyable.

Ah, the Mk1a cheap paint pot stabilising device, very good. What's the plastic like Dave, new tool ?

Hi Dave
Those paint pots are not stable so your pot holder is a great idea. I'll do something similar.
Good progress. The yellow looks to have gone on rather well.

Ok I need a little help I am now on my 5th coat of yellow and no sign of it being covered yet! I am thinning it a little with water to help it flow but it's starting to look like the paint is getting to thick on the model any ideas?

Hi Dave
The yellow looks fine on the photo. These Starter Kit paints seem very variable. Dave W's gloss red was horrendous.
