after John Huggins post about what to use for a desert I learned some used kitty litter so I've done a bit on a piece of board and was wondering if it needs any painting

Apart from the desert scrub this is all kitty litter the sand is crushed up bits and the stones are full pieces from the bag

I don't think it does but it's always good to get a second opinion:) View attachment 111256

At first glance i was fooled into thinking it was real it looks that good so i would not paint it as it would spoil it.

But others might differ

Cheers chaps it's great to see I'm getting something right :)

I won't use this for anything specific I think I'll use it to add something when I take photos of any desert build I do :)

Thanks for your help :)

Looks damn good from here Alan........... Doesn't need anything matey. Unless you can find a scale Meerkat popping out of a hole :D

It don't need paint and to be honest it would be impossible to paint..

If it's anything like the stuff our cats use, it will soak up paint and clump up. Either that or it will run out to a hard Yucky mess.

Don't forget to keep it away from the cat.

"What! It's my cat litter and I will pee in it as and when I feel the urge" ... Admit it, you can imagine your cat saying it... Mine would.

Ian when I was crushing it up I left it on the floor in the cave and went to get something, came back in and the cat was sniffing it with one paw in the box lid I was crushing it up in , lucky escape I think :D

Cheers guys I'm glad you like it I might start the base over the weekend if I get the time :)

I'll take that' idea for an upcoming Normandy Juno beach idea I have but not sure how to recreate sand ( fine sand ) if memory serves

Its going to be a Centaur giving fire support.

So I'll be interested how you create

Robert
