Haha nice one Colin, or a crewman with his hair parted by a near-miss!

A bit more progress... Added a couple of coats of the new Klear

I've found it to be much more runny & cloudy than the old stuff but it seems to have worked ok....

Only the washes, filters & chipping to go before I can start the process of making it look burnt-out!

Cheers

Patrick

Then the 1st chipping stage

Now, there's no actual damage as yet. In fact, there won't be much at all, it's more about showing the rusty, burnt-out look. So as I haven't made anything for over a year, I thought I'd refresh myself on certain techniques even though much of it will be covered over by the end.

Anyway, as ever, thanks for looking

Cheers

Patrick

This one sort of got away from me. You have made a good job out of that "cheap" kit. It will be a shame to wreck it, but as you wrote it will be a rust bucket and not a write off.

Its looking good so far.

This makes me grin ear to ear what a fun job you have ahead of you Patrick, Especially to be let loose on a wonderful canvas =)

I say again "silk purse out of a pigs ear"

You keep them techniques coming, a few of us can learn a thing or two as you progress ..thanks.

Really nice work Patrick.......like Ian's Lancaster the time is looming when it's trashing time......

It's a real pity to see both models ending up wrecked, but such is the sacrifice for signing up for this S.I.G.!

Cheers,

Ron

Looks like you are having no problems remembering the techniques Patrick. Its looking very nice indeed.

You're right Ron, the further along I get the sadder I am to have to damage it! But as I'm not sure where said damage etc is going, I thought it best to build the kit as I would any other.

Apart from adding filters, it's pretty much ready to feel the loving caress of Mr Dremel!

Thanks Ian. I tried the sponge chipping but I didn't like it, not enough control, so went back to my trusty hairy stick!

Well Patrick some great weathering and chipping there looking forward to the rest

Wow has this been brush chipped? The rust effects are subtle and look wicked. Im with Mobear i love it too =)
