Shifted this away from whats on the net bit , first car I bought seventy five pounds one years mot and still had two months road tax left ,thirteen gallon tank filled to the brim for just over three quid ,its all relevant I suppose now moving on a few more years when the tamiya halftrack thing with the quad guns on the back with crew in their winter gear first came out cost me two thirds of a weeks wages ,today I only build 72nd the reason I have nowhere to display (they fit nicely in a takeaway container) (even take away is becoming quite prohibitive) and they were cheap ok loads of badly fitting parts flash to die for but that was all part of building the models it went with the territory ,things have improved greatly there are some little beauty's out there but all going towards twenty to twenty plus as you say nothing there to encourage youngsters in to the hobby ,trouble is us old ones have been here long enough to remember our glory days to be honest the whole industry seems to aim at thoes already here (with money) matchbox had the right attitude great packaging multi coloured parts kids didn't even need to paint them ,but why would youngsters want to the inter net itself is almost a hobby ive gleaned a fantastic amount of knowledge from it and to be honest its only that I can hang about here on it that keeps me in the hobby its always been a solitary anorak kind of thing but imagine it without what I'm doing now.
