At least he cut them to a taper!
Actually if I might have the temerity to make a suggestion, I think they'd look better if they were left rectangular, cutting wiggly tin on a diagonal isn't easy.

Good point Pete.
I asked the mill owner about this. He said cutting the sheets at an angle was no problem. He used the same bolt crops he uses when his wife looses the keys to the handcuffs!

Onwards I go.
I've started to weather the tin roof and made a bit of fence.
The mill owner was too tight to add a bit of flashing, so I've added a bit of water stain under the roof. I've also added a small piece of wall to decrease the sudden 'Drop off' at the back of the base.
I made the fence from cocktail sticks and coffee stirrers

I was out of there asap, making tea, and looking for 570s bloody pencil took up most of the day. No way I was going to treat any timbers with a half inch brush, he may we'll have had it 45 years and been given it by Van Gogh.
Other than that apart from being made to hand over all matches, lighters, fire sticks, and my trusty tinder box we had a great time.
Seeing it in the flesh is something else.

"Before you bundle me into your van, I'm really just collecting bits of greenery to accompany Lt. Bilko, Troopers Kolinski and Trump. A mum and her little girl. Two horses, one of which is an Appaloosa. Are you familiar with the breed? No, didn't think you would be! Bringing up the rear of the horses is a know it all taxi driver. They are all in France. That's across the Channel........ in Europe!"
"No I'm not trying to be a smart a**e, the French taxi driver is already one of those and we don't want another, do we?....... Huh!, that thing you are pointing at me isn't strong enough to stop me, I know Matron and Sister Muldoon!"

"Let me out, I've left my carrier bag full of weeds, twigs and dead leaves!"
I am happy to report that after spending the night in a police cell, I have been collected by Matron and went back to 'Home' via the lane to pick up my goodies.
Here are some of the pickings in place.
I need slightly different greenery for the next bit. I'll have to take care though, as I've now got a band around my ankles which lets the police know where I am. The tossers won't know where, when I'm up to my knees in ditch water!
