discussion epoxy metal 'Glue' Help please.

I clouted my drive's side extended wing mirror yesterday and broke the white metal arm. It's a clean break, so fits nicely back together.

I only need a temp. repair until I get around to replacing the whole unit.

Has anyone on here actually used this two part stuff or has used, and can recommend, anything that can 'Weld' white metal?

I did a fix on my granddaughter's wing mirror with Araldite two part epoxy. The glue area was pretty small so I epoxied a 3" nail as a splint, then wrapped it with shiny foil tape. It lasted a few months until she sold the car!

agree with Mark1 on this, J.B Weld has served me well when I've needed a bit extra umph from an apoxy.
I would give it a bit of a rub down with 80 grit sandpaper to give it a good base to grab on to...

I’ve used 24 hour araldite to fix a hole in an engine casing. It never failed on me while I owned the bike. I’ve found with epoxy that the longer the setting time the stronger the bond. Peter’s idea of using a nail or two as a splint would be prudent as well, especially if you want a functional rather than aesthetic repair..
