Well the B17 alone on amazon right now is £22.99 so if that is the same (and it looks like it just a different colour scheme) then that sounds like a bargain!

Another 'modern' 1/72 B-17 is the Academy kit. I think there are three versions, a very early one with the older-style tail and glazing, a B-17F and the B-17G. I believe they also have the different tail turrets. The only problem with the Academy kit is the dihedral of the wings, but is easily rectified using plastic inserts.

I have both the ancient Airfix G and the newer Academy F. Worlds apart in detail. The Academy also gives you extra propeller blades for different versions in the one box, a wee bonus if you needed to raid them for something else later. Also probably cheaper than the Revell or other brands making new tool versions of the Flying Fortress.

I've got the set now, will probably post a thread once it's done :D

Here is a review of the Revell B17 in 1/72

On a Google there are a lot more reviews of the 1/48 version (which I would prefer) or the HKM 1/32 kits that I would love to build, if I had the space!!!
