I live near Shoreham Airport and every year they host the RAFA Shoreham airshow. Being near Shoreham most of the larger aircraft that are too large to land, fly over my house. I have never seen a flying fortress in the air before. It is a big plane and a lot quiter than the Lancaster. Seeing one is spectacular, like the Lancaster.

The first time I saw one flying, I was a bit disappointed at how quiet it was. Still a great sight though.

I've got a short memory, I have seen one flying before and here's a couple of photos I took at an airshow in 2008

About 30 minutes ago, a Tonka low enough to see it was fully loaded flew over Hull.

Flaps and wheels down heading in the general direction of 'Humberside Airport' (Kirmington)

Can't find anything on Millair, but very unusual in this area especially so low.

Couldn't get to my camera quick enough to get a shot.

awww lucky. Never happens in Aus. We only see F-18s, an occasional Spitfire Mk VIII and commercial jets:D

Are you sure it was from a show? it may have been the latest addition to our air force considering how we have slashed our military budget:D :(
