I've noticed quite alot of kits on flea bay that are coming from Hong Kong, they seem fairly cheap and the p&p is cheaper than uk ebayers!

Has anyone bought any of these kits from abroad? Are there any hidden charges?

Cheers

Wayne

I've not bought kits from Hong Kong but have got bits for my camera and there was no hidden extras just took a little longer, I think the longest I've waited it 3 weeks but the savings were worth it

I'm not bothered by having to wait a bit longer, as long as i'm not getting stung in some way. In that case i'll start looking through those aswell.

As long as you pay via Paypal then you have nothing to loose, if it doesn't turn up just report them to Paypal and get your money back

hi wayne, ive not bought any kits from hong kong but i have bought an airbrush , dual action 0.2mm nozzle gravity fed. cost me £7 + £8 postage, came in a week!!! Excellent bit of kit ,its the one i use most out of the 3 ive got .Also bought a watch from HK too same thing -great product and quick posting, only bit of advice id give is look for the feedback rating and read some of the recent feedbacks, its a good idea of whether theyre ok , but ive had no problems. good luck tony

I agree with John , you only pay for the postage and price of the model , if you look at their feedback score it should be between 98-100 which is ok , if you buy from abroad you have to pay by paypal , the reason I won`t buy from hong kong - japan etc is as John said it can take 3-4 weeks to get your model and for the sake of a pound or two I would rather spend my hard earned with a UK seller or UK model shop .

Just my opinion

I have bought loads of stuff, airsoft weapons, kits all sorts from H/K and Chinese ebayers and have nothing but admiration for the polite and 100% efficiency these guys have. I have always been given a tracking no. and recorded del. thrown in. Delivery varies but it's usually around 7 days

Just be aware, sometimes you will see an item for 0.99p opening bid but the P/P is astronomical! This is rare but does happen.

Our postal service would do well to observe how these guys do business.

Our customs could look inside the packages and poss. levy an import charge but this has never happened to me in the years I have been getting stuff.

Go for it, I do !!

I used to purchase from the UK only, even though items may be more expensive... just habit and confidence of our market I guess. However, I recently had to purchase a 30.cal barrel from Japan due to no availability within this country. Used Paypall and a visa card to cover me. Well that was only a week ago, correspondence from the seller was extremely polite and informative with each step of the process. The item has been dispatched and am now waiting though I'm not holding my breath for delivery before the (Chinese) New Year....! ;o) Shall let you know how I get on, but so far so good.
