Hi all,

Some of you may know that my wife Zoë had a battle with cancer last year. Thankfully that episode is behind us but in an effort to give something back in return for the excellent care she received, we are taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.

I did lots of hill walking and mountaineering in my youth, and our honeymoon was even spent hiking in the Lake District, but time has gotten to us both and we aren't as fit as we used to be, so there will be lots of fitness training in the near future as this challenge is definitely no walk in the park!

The event itself is in July and we have set up a team Just Giving page. We'll be posting training updates on there if you would like to follow, or if you could see your way to helping out with a donation, that would be fantastic!

I'll keep this thread updated too as we go along.

Thanks in advance,
Andy & Zoë

What a great idea. A wonderful way to recognise the fine treatment Zoe had and to raise funds for Breast Cancer research.
The wife and I have done the three peaks many, many years ago. Not the challenge but one at a time over a few years.
So very glad Zoe is now better. Of course I will look at your just giving page and make a donation.

Done :)

Not much I miss about the UK but the Lake District is one of the things I miss the most of all. A wonderful place. If I wasn't walking the peaks I was in a kayak... Or a pub lol.
A great cause Andy.

Thanks Ian. It's been far too long since I've been out in the hills, I'd forgotten how good it is for the soul.

I had a go in a kayak once. I doubt I'll ever do it again, I'll stick to the pub 😂

Well, we have already reached our team target and still have 6 months to go before the challenge, so thank you all very much for your generous donations.

Of course we don't have to stop there. The more we raise the more we can help, so Zoë & I are looking forward to smashing our targets.
