Just back from seeing this i thought it was a cracking film better than private Ryan but i am biased as a mate was in it, well worth a watch though good to see an armour focused film.

Dave

thats one movie that i do real wont to see, looks so good from the trailer, i have seen,

and if its any think like saving Ryan, and you glorious bastards I will lov it lol, :D

thks for the heads up,

Yes from the trailers looks like a good film who's you're mate will look out for him

Thanks for the comments as I was hoping to see this next week, now I will definitely make the effort!

I found it quite tense. my mate is an extra he is a medic running past brad pitt in one scene and tank crew leant against the dragon wagon as the Shermans move out of the staging area.

Dave

The only thing that puts me off is Pitt and his wooden acting ! It's a big problem with American actors today they just do one style andit doesn't matter what part they playing

I'll wait until it comes on sky that way if it's bad I can pretend I never saw it as it didn't cost me anything :D

Ps glad you enjoyed it :)

Was thinking of going to see this myself and if it's better than saving private Ryan I'm off to get my coat thanks for the review cheers John

Just watched this and got to say the scene with the Tiger should have been 4-0 to the Tiger unless they found the worse tank crew in the German army.

i think they're loader must have dropped a couple of rounds. but they risked getting bogged in a ploughed field.

Dave

Well we cannot have Hollywood having their brave soldiers getting creamed by a Tiger can we? :D

I'll wait until it comes out on DVD.

Si:)

My son treated me to the flicks on Wednesday to see this.....

I do wish film makers would sit back and properly watch the end product and realise just how daft and improbable some of the scenes actually are...

I won't spoil it listing them, but put it this way......I wouldn't even get this on DVD.

Great special effects and sound, but that's it!

No offence intended, but it's not even on the same planet as Saving Private Ryan, Days of Glory, and Saints and Soldiers.

The above is my personal take peeps (and my armour nut son's too)

I take american war films with a pinch of salt, there entertaining and that's it , good to look at , loud and heroic

Teat them like thatand you can enjoy them , look for realism and accuracy and you'll feel let down

I think if a true to fact war film was made everyone would walk out they are made for entertainment not documentary quality.

Private Ryan is far from free from mistakes.

Dave

Well I saw it and unlike all you perfectionists :P I enjoyed it. It is what it is, somewhat lacking in character building and it wants to be more than it is in places but it was good rip-roaring fun nonetheless. Personally I find some movies/tv shows with all sorts of computer nonsense a bit unbelievable (start up sequence in Jurassic Park for example).

It wasn't perfect but if you suspend belief for a while, it is good fun.

Just got back from seeing it, it was entertainment, I enjoyed it. I'm not a tank buff or a history buff, it was a few hours of been out of the house with good company :)
