Well it's here THE build you have all been chomping at the bit for. The 1/24 scale aircraft SIG.

12 whole months to build the best large scale aircraft you can. No need to rush it, Ask for all the help you need, and help those that ask. (Not that you need telling).

You may open your thread now and post the box art and the sprue photos and all the extra eye candy you have. (Except Alan45 he has to post his sprue shots the 1st of January, with a copy of the days paper, 'cause he said he can always cheat and start now. .)

If you are mad enough to be building more than one, a separate thread for each one please.

Building may commence the first of January.!!!

Dear Ian!

I posted this reply on my thread....anyway I will post here too.

I was looking at my reference photos, and as Barry has mentioned on his thread, the major part of the chassis is painted in green colour, not on aluminium as the airfix instructions mentioned.....

Anyone knows if is for some special reason like late version or similar....?

I've seen pictures of early car-door-type Typhoons with the tubing painted black. Later versions probably had the tubing aft of the firewall in interior green to speed up production. I can't provide a definitive answer Polux, just thought I'd mention that as a possibility.

As there is a good few building a Spitfire V you might like to have a ganders at these photos of a restored Mk V

Done in Kiwi land over 30 it is said to be authentic as when built...

The construction was I believe 'Duralumin' throughout Polux. I'm, unsure however about the propeller blades.

You're optimistic....its taken me 11 months to get to the point where all I have to do is add aerial wire!
