Hi folks. It has gone a bit quiet over the last week or so on here. So, come on. Spare a couple of minutes to tell us what is keeping you at the workbench instead of the keyboard.

What plastic masterpieces are on the go? If it is something you want to keep to yourself until the final reveal, just tell us we will have t wait.

On another note. There is only June to go now for the end of the FW190 Group Build. If you still have yours to finish and you have gone off the idea, try a gentle return to the build and see if you can get it going again.

Very shortly we will be looking for the subject matter of the next one. I will be opening a new thread in GB Chat for you to vote for the subject matter.

Remember, modelling is fun, let's keep it that way.

I'll tell you whats been keeping me away Graham, "the sun". Since it's been out we've re-landscaped the garden, and the shed has gone up in smoke (well, we did set it on fire lol). Today it's raining so i've got a 1:48 scale KV-1 on the workbench (fancied doing a Russian dio). I think the sun is going to get the blame from everyone as we're out and about getting stuff done (for the wife).

Have fun, John

Work I'm afraid. I am,in the words of the classic song, "on the road again". Internet access is okay here in the U.K. but becomes more difficult once we head into mainland Europe, particularly the South. No prospect of any model building until August!

I'll be checking in to see how you lot are getting on.

Cheers

Steve

:nurse:It's all a bit hectic on here at the minute and same as John, modelling can wait a while...IT'S SUMMER!!!!

We have, at last, ditched the T.V. licence ( best thing we have ever done) The keyboard has a bit of dust on it, Mrs. Ron's mobile phone is at the bottom of the pond....Life is gut, ja?

Yes, I will pootle along building summat, but life is too good outside just now, going places, seeing new things, but best of all, nice drink, rug over my knees watching the sunset, then tucked in by my wobbly nurse!

I will not slack in my moderator roll and will watch the threads but modelling is down on my priority list at the minute, it will have to wait 'till the longer nights, sorry Graham.

Cheers,

Ron

I agree Graham its been very quite, like a lot of the guys work and home commitments have taken over for me over the last 3-4 weeks , if anyone is interested I`m happy to do a mini blog on something a little bit different , sorry guys not military , but the new Tamiya ASTON MARTIN DBS

I`m going to take a few photos and then wash and prime the kit in the next half hour or so , if their is an interest I`m happy to start a new thread showing my progress , it looks a smashing kit and I hope I can do it justice .

The forum always goes a bit quieter during summer, I think last year it was July 22nd to 23rd :vacat:

But seriously it does get quite but looking at today's weather it just like winter, I'm off work next week so I plan to finish my raptor and might look at starting something totally different that I've never done like a diorama, that's if I stop getting dragged round shopping centres

Once I finish my SU-33, plan to do another of my christmas presents the 1/48 Hasegawa TF-104G Starfighter. Cheers Derek

Like ron and john the sunshine (here and abroad) and a fair bit of wallpapering has been keeping me away from the bench, hopefully ill be able to get a bit more done now, especially as ive only got 4 weeks to finish the GB fw190!!! tony

It's all quiet on the modelling front here I'm afraid. I quit my job a couple of weeks ago and I've got lots to do to finish everything off before the end of the academic year. I don't want to start anything major and get frustrated when I've got no time to spend on it.

I've also been waiting to see what the next GB is going to be. I got a reasonable stash and thought I'm almost certain to have something suitable for most things. I have for three of the choices - but guess what I ain't got? Not a blessed thing for the Eastern front - which is currently leading the poll!

Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nowt. Nada!

Never mind. There's the show at Coventry at the end of June and we should have a better idea of what it's gonna be by then. That's all assuming I can find a suitable trailer to drag my purchases home of course!

Well that told me didn't it lol. Have to agree that the weather has had me locked out of the house (and me shed) doing gardening etc. Good to here you are all still hanging in there thou and it is good to hear that there is some interest in the next GB.

All 8x11 meters of it. And the 'best' part is there is just as much to lay at the back.

So what with that and the rest of life, working, sleeping and the garden, not been up to to much. I have been building a Mossy, which it nearing compleation, So there will be a few piccies of that soon.

Beats me how you managed to find any time even for the 'rest of your life' bits - let alone any modelling. That's a nice bit of drive there.

Pity you live over in Denmark though. I can just see the corner of a trailer which would be perfect for me to bring my stuff home from Coventry with! LOL

Jer its a big trailer to. We used it to drive the "old" drive way to the recycling center. It can only carry a ton so we had to make a few runs.

Whats happening in Coventry then? A model show?

The Doris. Problem is the Doris. She has this daft idea that gardening and redecorating is more fon for me that modelling, new as I am.

Still thinking about a Ta 152 for the group build. It's a bit of a problem, but I will have it done by the deadline.

The plan is, submit late, hysterical laughter dies down quicker as everyone is focussed on the new topic.

I can also do sneaky if needed!!

Nobody will be shot if their GB build comes in a bit late, all that happens at the end of the GB is that the next one starts. We are not that serious (sad?) on here that we bolt down the GB at midnight the closing date. If ever (unlikely) that it becomes a competition then that will change. For now, the main reason for the GB is to get people joining in not hitting deadlines.

Yep. It's the annual Coventry & Warwickshire IPMS show at the Midland Air Museum on Jun 27th. I'll be going and was hoping to meet up with anyone else from here who might be interested. I'll be dropping hints and reminders over the next few weeks.

I gotta ask. Were you thinking of joining in 'cos that's one heck of a trip from Denmark?
