finally got back news from HR and Ovcupational Heath and the Drs that I am now passed fir to return to work. I've spent over 6months off work due to a series of strokes, losing my ability to speak at one point. I start back with my company Scottish Autism where I work as a Support worker.

With regards to modelling I'm still finding it somewhat hard concentrating for long periods but I struggle on and now can sit doing say a figure or model painting for about 1hr or even 2hrs at a time.

I still have a little problem with the odd shake in my hands and I hate this as I had a new Weathering powder ( rust ) and let's say I have a nice colour stain in the carpet.( wife went nuts) but I cleaned it up best I could and it don't look that bad now. I found a few lost bits I thought the carpet monster had eaten

My wife has been very supportive over this period and always encourages me to do a little each day.

My health scare did a lot in making me think, to make a few changes so it was goodbye to eating on the go ( you do that a lot in my job) and swapping for lettuce leafs and healthy homemade soups, exercise etc. So after a very positive meeting at the office last Friday I'm raring to get back in the saddle and continue what I enjoy doing in my work.

Regards

Robert

That is good news Robert, really pleased for you mate.

Your modelling is just a hobby, I get mad at myself when I make a mistake or the finish isn't good-but this is silly, my illness makes me shake and cramp so mistakes are bound to happen-but I have learned to try and not blame myself and get into a depression about it. It is what it is...after all if you get 20 mins doing something it is a positive, something that I am still working on.

Take it easy and do what you can, when you can.

That's terriffic news Robert. Really glad to hear it mate. It's good to get back to what you enjoy. :)

P.S. ...... PM me your shift pattern for the next couple of weeks. So I'll know when you're at work, and I can nip round and empty out the contents of those ottomans mate. :D

Always heartwarming to hear someone is on the mend. Keep up that positive attitude and chip away at it. Really pleased for you.

Thanks guys and gals for all the positive response and good thoughts .There was a point I thought I couldn't return to my level of fitness to carry on with my job. Will I have to learn a new trade at 47 The amount of times I was in and out of hospital was pretty scary but my wife was with me all the way and my company gave me very positive support throughout my recovery and at times I could really hit my head on the brick wall for feelings of uselessness.

I felt fine but my body said no and headaches ( think of a dremil going in slow) that's bad enough and then the MRI and CAT scans then the long waiting and every month going to the Drs and hospital over and over. Well I'm crossing me fingers that's all in the past....... Next big thing I'm looking forward to is my 50th in 3 Yrs and spending it in Vegas!!
