A while ago i was just browsing the internet and i found this great guide to weathering. I myself havent used any of this but i thought it would be great to share with you guys. Apologies if anyone else has posted this link Weathering Model Aircraft by David W. Aungst

He certainly likes to blow his own trumpet!

I'm not sure if the models displayed are overdone to emphasize the weathering process or if he just does things far too heavy.

I was always under the impression that subtlety was the aim.

What he doesn't know he makes up.

It's been a long time since gunpowder was used in shell casings

Oh right, well me as a newbie to weathering thought that was a pretty good guide.

I guess i have lots to learn!

Hi Dan, looks like some useful stuff their, you can never have too much information, especially when you are starting off. Once you have a few models under your belt, you will develop your own working methods. Cheers Derek

I didn't mean it to sound so negative, more of a jibe really.

The methods he describes are fine, but they are not the be-all and end-all of weathering.

Have a search through the threads on this forum and you will find a lot more information.

And if you have any problems or questions just ask. There are plenty of experienced modellers here who will be glad to help.

Think I keep quiet for a while!:shoot:
